Jono's Journal

I’ll keep this brief…

It’s the end of the first year of my writing journey.

I’ve learned an insane amount of things, like:

  • Writing
  • Business
  • Social media
  • Monetising

But the most interesting thing I’ve learned about?

My self.

It’s crazy what you learn about yourself when you set a goal and commit to it.

  • 1 year of writing,
  • 1 letter every week,
  • Posting on Twitter every day.

Challenges arise, you realise you need a system, processes, workflows. You get angry, annoyed and want to give up. But being consistent towards a goal changes you, you become a winner and gain a huge ammount of confidence.

Writing though, that is like mining. You're mining your past, your mind and your soul and extracting things that were burried so deep you didn't know existed. Things like fears and insecurities but also achievements, progress and wins. It's a mix of gems and skeletons. The good thing is you keep the gems and throw away the skeletons - for good!

It'll make you happier, healthier, wiser and smarter. You’ll realise that anything is possible and you will create your dream life. Because being consistent and means believing in yourself. If you can believe in yourself, you’re unstoppable.

However,

I’m giving my self permission to break my consistency. I’m not sending a letter for the next 2 weeks. I’m taking time to focus on myself, my wife and my family. I’m going to Australia for the Christmas holidays and going to absorb all that Zen energy and recharge.

Am I still going to write? Yes (In my journal)

So, whereever you are on your creative journey, stay consistent.

Create until you die.

Take care my friend, you’re amazing.
